Houston Strategic Forum Boasts New Enhanced Website

(Houston August 9, 2007) A new, enhanced website went on line this month for the Houston Strategic Forum. Developed by Eventigy, the new site provides the convenience of online event registration, adds easy access to professional development resources and for members, enhances their networking capability. Enhanced internet marketing built into the website will push news of the organization to the search engines.

A quick look at the home page introduces the visitor to the organization, features the next event and provides for considerable interactivity. Right from this page, visitors can find easy online registration, link to the latest forum news, sign up for the newsletter, inquire about membership and pose their own question about strategy or execution to the organization.

For over two decades, the Houston Strategic Forum has brought insights of top strategists to its members. In recent years, the featured speakers have been top CEO’s of Houston and elsewhere who share straight talk about their organizations challenges and goals, the strategies they have executed to meet them and the outcomes that resulted.

The Houston Planning Forum has grown phenomenally in the last year, with present membership reaching over 150. Providing the next level of service to our members is one of the reasons for building the new site, said Jeff Linder, vice president of events and co-hosts. It will allow us to expand our kinds of events and the overall value of the organization to our members.”

One of the new features offering professional development is Business Insight. “The section will capture valuable knowledge from our featured speakers in summaries of their presentations,” said Linder. Professional development tools are also on the Links page, where visitors can link to current top thinking on strategy and execution. The page also provides a bibliography of past articles that still influence strategic thought today.

At the monthly meetings, HSF has a unique audience participation feature through programmed table discussions. Participants are given a question related to a top business challenge of the day and contribute their insights on strategy. All tables answer the same question. These multiple insights will be posted on the website allow for longevity and easy reference. The home page of the site adds a dimension of this feature with a place where site visitors can post their own question to the organization.

Sponsors, members, officers and committees are listed on the site. Sponsors now have an additional dimension to their sponsorship as in addition to prominent logo and acknowledgement, the site has prominent links to company websites, making it easy for interested site visitors to learn more about their company and its offerings. Members who like to network will find a directory of members and their companies as well as board members, officers and committee chairs.

For members, the new site enables their networking. It supports and broadens the interactive capability of volunteers and for easier networking through our committee activity.

“The site reflects the thought and efforts of quite a number of our members and I thank each and every one,” said Ravi Kathuria, president. “They have given insight that helped us identify enhancements that add value to their membership. We are excited to see the site online and already take pleasure in using it.”
